We believe gymnastics is
the most complete physical activity available to today's youth. Our
students learn many motor skills enabling them to roll, twist, flip,
turn upside-down and land on their feet. Flexibility, coordination,
strength and body awareness are continually emphasized. These skills
will benefit your children for the rest of their lives and help them
achieve greater success in any sport or athletic endeavor they may
try in the future.
Newspapers report only 1 out of 6, ten year old boys
can do a pull-up, and only 2% of the children taking the President's
Physical Fitness test pass. With this knowledge, we realize what a
valuable service we provide. We offer a facility where physical fitness
is enjoyable and comes naturally from having fun. Many of our students
have passed the Presidential test while setting school records.
For centuries many cultures have realized the benefits
of a healthy, active body. Physical activity increases the likelihood
of the healthy mental and emotional approach to life. With our emphasis
on gymnastics for fun, our students learn that fitness is an enjoyable
and essential part of a happy life.
The Lafleur family gymnastic history spans four generations
and half a century. This experience and knowledge has enabled the
LaFleur's to develop one of the finest gymnastic programs in the Southeastern
United States.

on a full gymnastic scholarship. While attending the University of
Minnesota, he was the recipient of the Conference Medal of Honor awarded
to the most outstanding student athlete. He was a two time All American

of gymnastics for over 35 years; teaching or coaching for over 25
years. He moved to Florida in November 1980, opening LaFleur's of
Largo in January 1981, when he was director and head coach from 1981
through 1986. Jeff has been co-owner and director of LaFleur's of
Tampa since it opened in January 1985, and actively coaches all phases
of the gymnastic curriculum from "Special Needs" classes
and preschool through the Elite Competitive Levels. He is U.S.A. Gymnastic
Safety Certified, Meet Director Certified as well as an A.S.E.P. Certified
Instructor. He has also served on the Florida State Board since 1983.
He has been active as a State and Regional (8 southeastern states)

educators in the Hillsoborough and Pinellas County school systems.
Jeff has coached numerous State, Regional and National U.S.A. Gymnastics
championships. Since 1988 the LaFleur's Tampa program has developed
eight elite gymnasts, three of whom have competed internationally.
In November 1997, Jeff was inducted into the University of Minnesota
Sports Hall of Fame.
Julie LaFleur also graduated from the University of
Minnesota with a B.S. degree in Physical Education and a minor in
Dance. She danced as a member of the Minnesota Repertory Dance Theater
before moving to Florida with her husband, Jeff founding LaFleur's
Largo, St. Petersburg and then LaFleur's of Tampa in 1985 where she
is co-owner and director. She is a U.S.A. Gymnastics Safety Certified
and A.S.E.P. Certified. She has coached many State, Regional and National
floor exercise medalists and one international floor exercise champion.
Through gymnastics, children at LaFleur's learn the
powerful concept of confidence, which coupled with practice and discipline
will enable them to achieve their goals. Our philosophy that every
child is a winner encourages children to stretch their physical capabilities
along with their ability to dream and achieve. We invite your child
to come and explore the fun and rewarding world of fitness and gymnastics!
