What is a LaFleur?

We the LaFleur's are an athletic family out of Greenfield, Wisconsin. Tony and Barb LaFleur (both gymnasts) had 5 kids who were sport fanatics and all stayed with gymnastics through college, three on full scholarships. Today 4 out of 5 are gymnastic school owners and have done so since 1980.

Jeff and wife Julie, that's us, own and operate LaFleur's here in Tampa. Jeff was a Big 10 Champion, two time All American, and Conference Medal of Honor recipient at the University of Minnesota in 1976. He went on to medal in the Pan Am Games in 1979. In 1997, Jeff was inducted into the U of M Sports Hall of Fame. Jeff and Julie both majored in Physical Education. Jeff minored in Child Psychology, Julie minored in Dance.

Since opening in 1980 LaFleur's has had countless State, Regional, and National champion competitors and Tampa's only international level competitors, including six time Jr. Pan Am gold medalist, Michelle Karac, Olympian, Dominique Moceanu, and Jr. National Team Members, Leila Pallardy and Emily Spychala. Many of LaFleur's gymnasts have gone to college on scholarships and many have come back to teach at our club.

Through the years LaFleur's has created programs that benefit kids of all ages. Our love of kids is the fuel that drives us toward wanting to have the highest quality programs available anywhere!

Jeff is a national speaker and certifier for USA Gymnastics. He speaks at many state, regional, and national seminars about the benefits of gymnastics and its positive effect on early childhood development.

In 1996 we built the facility on Anderson Road and a year later added a "learn to swim" pool for teaching kids how to swim.

LaFleur's has established managers for each of their programs who focus on maintaining high quality in all areas. Programs include Supertots (1-5 yrs), Gym Kids USA (K-8), Little Flipper Swim School, Boys & Girls Competitive Teams, Tumbling, Special Ed., Camps and Birthday Parties.
